Lawton Building is a privately owned commercial construction company. Projects undertaken range in value from a few thousand dollars to very large, and are generally of a commercial nature. This is our area of expertise although we have branched out successfully into other areas such as medical buildings containing PET scanners, high-end retirement resorts and renovation and refurbishment of existing buildings and we enjoy the challenge of interesting builds.

The company is the latest evolution of a family business which has been involved in the Auckland building industry for more than 50 years spanning five generations of the Lawton family. This strong family continuity augmented by experienced specialists has produced a tightly run company that enables us to meet the needs of our clients in the most timely and cost efficient manner.

Our commitment to ongoing staff training through our membership of EMA and SiteSafe, and development of apprentices through BCITO keeps us abreast of best practice management and construction methods and ensures our competitive ability. Our Health and Safety policy and procedures meet and exceed the current legal requirements; the safety of all personnel on and around our sites is of paramount importance to Lawtons.

Lawton Building Ltd is the third company owned by the Lawton family to maintain membership of the industry leading body, the Master Builders Association. Our Managing Director John Lawton, like his father before him, recognises the valuable input of the Master Builders in the New Zealand construction industry and he is currently on the Auckland Executive board.
